The origins of Orvieto go back the 9^th century B.C. time of the first settlements of the Etruscans along the Italians west coast, big prove is the incredible tufaceous caves in the bedrock upon today the city rises. During the middle ages and the dispute between the Pope and the Holy Roman Empire Orvieto always remained faithful to the Pope receiving all the benefits and was able to prosper through the entire medieval. One of the main attraction of Orvieto is the Duomo built in the 13^th-14^th century in order to preserve the relic of the famous "Miracle of Bolsena". Obviously as any Umbrian city Orvieto is also know for the finest selection of hams and salamis, extra virgin olive oil, truffle mushrooms, clay and ceramics.

Day like:

The Tour is 8/h usually it starts at 8:00AM . Your driver will meet you in the lobby or where you indicate. The drive to Orvieto is about 1,5/h first stop will be at the Duomo, then we will arrange an underground visit of the towns and its tufo caves. You should be finished by lunch time and ready for a typical lunch with an olive and local wine taste right in the main square in a place choose by us or always open to new suggestions.. If time allows on the way back to Rome we always like to do just a little picture stop Civita di Bagnoregio known as the Ghost Town a lovely little village only 10 people live there right on a cliff.
