In Naples can admire one of Italy's active volcano called mount Vesuvius famous in the history records for the eruption of the year 79 A.D. burying the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum with over 20 feet of pumice and ash. The excavations of the 16^th and 18^th century reviled a city petrified in time, in some buildings paintings, sculpture and graffiti have survived and are still visible.

The Tour is 8h usually it starts at 08:00AM . Your driver will meet you right under the ship holding a sign with your last name on it he will always monitor time in order to have you back to the ship by 05:30 pm at the latest. The drive to city center and back to the port, due to traffic, is about 1,5/h each way. In the high season when in central Italy could be pretty worm we prefer to start early in Pompeii, we recommend to have as arrange for you a private guide who will privately guide you for 2/h trough the main areas of the archeological site. After the visit before heading to visit mount Vesuvius stop for a nice local lunch and refreshing by trying the lemonade freshly made with huge citrus that grow in the area. The drive to mount Vesuvius from Pompeii is about 30 minutes the car can only get up to a point than if you wish to reach the crater the walk is about 20 minutes.
